There are eight talukas in district Sindhudurg. Out it of it three i.e. Deogad, Malvan & Vengurla are on the seabank & Vaibhavadi, kudal, Kankawali , Sawantwadi & Dodamarg are at the foot of Sahyadri. This district is declared as a Tourism district. Mumbai Goa highway goes through this district via Kharepatan, Kankawali, Oros, Kudal Sawantwadi & Banda. Konkan railway is also going through this district & the main railway stations are Vaibhawadi, Tarale, Nandgaon, Kankawali, Kasal, Oros Kudal, Sawantwadi
