Kudal
Sindhudurg Nagari : 13 Km from Kudal pre-planned, well planned city of district Sindhudurg. It is a headquater of the district Japanees Architecture has a special influence in its construction.
Gavade wada : Gavade wada is 150 years old construction . It has 46 rooms all well maintained. It is a tourist attraction for its construction carving & painting.

Oros Dam : Oros dam is nearby . You must visit & enjoy your walk in the area.
Datta Mandir : Datta Mandir is 14 Km from Kudal. This temple was established by Tembe swami very famous among Datta devotees.

Shivapur : Shivapur is 42 Km from Kudal. This place is tourist attraction due to its natural beauty. You will see thickly covered hills by dense forests, very fresh & cool air, and pleasant surrounding . In the rainy season, you can watch countless streams of milky water, falling from the hills . The place is famous among bird & animal lovers.

Manohargad & Maansantoshgad : These two forts made Shivapur a thrilling exeperience for the trekkers. To watch the deep valley among these two forts is also a thrilling exeperience. These forts are in the dense forest of Shivapur. Fort Ragangad is 18 Km from Kudal. It is 2600 feet above the sealevel. It was built by the Emperor Shilahar Bhoj. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj conquered this in 1959. It was his favourite ‘Rest House’ The beautiful lake & the temple in the fort are also tourist attractions.

Village Nerur : At the foot of Raganagad is famous for Mahalakshmi temple. Before climbing the fort, the people go to the temple & then climb the fort.

Walawal : 15 Km from Kudal. This place is very famous among tourists. They come here, climb the hills only to watch the beautiful scenery of Tarkarli creek. They also enjoy the beauty of the lake & to pay their respect to Lakshmi - Narayan temple.

Lake Mulade : 5 Km from Kudal on kudal border, famous for natural beauty & Agricultural research centre.

Raul Maharaj Math : It is at _________in_____ talunka. It is established by Raul Maharaj. He was a devotee of Datta. This math is blessed with nature. Devotees from all over India visit this math.

Pinguli : It is a small village in ______ taluka . This village is famous for the making of puppets. There are artists in the village who make these shows & they are very popular & known as pinguli artists.

Nerur Kaleshwar : is kudal taluka . This temple is the most beautiful & artistic temple. There is ' Shivapindi ' in square form. All the six pillars are decorated with best stone carving. You must visit & appreciate the beauty of the temple.
In the same vicinity of the temple there is a separate temple of shree Brahmdeo. It is a rare temple of god Brahmdeo. The statue of the god is really marvelous.

Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati Tembe Maharaj Matha : Shree vasudevanand was born here. He has established a Datta temple here. The renovation of the temple was done by Ahilyabai Holkar in 1938. Large number of devotees of Tembe swami visit here from all over India. There is a good arrangment for loadging & boarding done by the temple trustees.

Akeri Rameshwar temple near Mangnon. has a beautiful construction. The pillars are from single black stones, well carved & beautifully polished. There are many thing to see in the temple & get astonished. It is a large beautiful temple in the most beautiful surroundings. While going to Akeri from Mangaon on the borders of Mangaon, near Sundar bhatale, you will enjoy the visit to Gangotri

Ragana Fort : It is in Sahyadri range on the border of districts Kolhapur & Sindhudurg. It was constructed by Shilahar Raja Bhoj. Shivaji Maharaj conquered this fort in 1659. Maharaj use to rest here while going to Konkan from Pune. The fort has very pleasant air, very large lake for swimmers & very tasty, sweet, cool, fresh water. There is a temple near the lake of Goddess Raganai. Visitors enjoy to visit this fort for many such reasons & so it is a great tourist attraction.

सावंन्तवाड़ी Sawantwadi Tahasil

Sawantwadi known as heritage city due to its old wada type house & the palace . It is famous for wooden toys, handicraft of Bamboo, clay, wood & engraving on the horns of wild buffalo. Ganjifa cards are made here & they are very famous & popular.
Moti Talao : Moti Talao is surrounded by green hills all around, this place is very beartiful. You can enjoy boating here.

Fort - Deogad was constructed in 1705 by Konoji Angre.
Town Deogad - its name by the fort Deogad. It is a natural, Safe port. In old times big ships were coming in the port. This village is famous for Pawanchakki near Govt Circuit House & Deogad ( Hapus) mango.
Kunkeshwar : Temple of Shree Kunakeshwar is very important religious spot of Konkani people . The temple is built in Hemadpanthi style before 1100 A.D. There is a big Yatra at ' Mahashivara ' for three days at Kunkeshwar. It is known as, ' Kashi of Konkan'. The temple is situated on a hill near the beach you can watch the beautiful scenery all around.
Vimaleshwar Temple 14 Km from Deogad. The glistening water of the river looks inviting . The temple has a background of greenhills & dense gardens of Coconut & Betetnut. Due to all these things, the temple becomes more attractive. It is a jagrut deity, very famous among devotees. The 5 Statues & two elephants in front of the temple attract the tourists.
Dockyard Waghothan 29 Km from Deogad is famous since British period.
Rameshwar Temple : 29 Km from Deogad, is built by Gangadharpant Bhanu. He engraved this temple in the rock. The bell near the temple is bought here by Anandrao Dhulap.
Padaghar Waterfall - is 27 Km from Deogad. This waterfall flows rapidly through the cracks of rocks of Padaghar. This fall has created scenic pool at the bags. Photographers, tourists & nature lovers attract to this waterfall.
Tambaledag Beach is 27 Km from Deogad Absountely clean, beautiful, calm & quiet. It is free from all kind of polution. There is a temple of Goddess Gajabadevi nearby. You can enjoy swimming, tanning & playing on this beach.

Fort Vijaydurg : 31 Km from Deogad. It was construated by Raja Bhoj of Shilahar Dynasty in 1205 A.D. It has a spread over 17 acres of land . After shilahar, the Deogiri yadav ruled over it Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj conquered this fort in 1653. Maharaj extended its vicinity & made it stronger than before. He built Hanuman Mandir in memory of this victory. He gave the responsibility of protecting this fort to brave Kanoji Angre. This fort was never conquered by anyone after that so it was known as ' Rock of Zilbratar ' . You must visit this fort.

Girye Rameshwar - It is an ancient shiv temple, 18 Km from Vijaydurg. It is underground temple. There are swords made 350 years ago in Shivaji period, in the temple.

Kondura Beach - This is a beautiful beach of silvery sand. This beach is near a small village of Vayagani in Vengurla taluka. You have to reach here by a Kachha road - but once you are here - you will enjoy all the beauty of the beach. You must visit this beautiful beach.

Dutch Warehouse was built in 1660 to 1670 Dutch left this place in 1682 for ever . In the year 1960 downfall of this place started. Upto 1979 it remained in reminiscent form only. This place is under the control of Arecheology Dept of India Since 1974.

मालवन Malvan Tahsil





Malvan :
Fort Sindhudurg : This fort is built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the sea on the small island of Kurate in 1664. It is a strong fort. There is a temple of Shivaji Maharaj in the fort. There are foot & palm impression of Shivaji Maharaj in the fort . The fort is spread in the vicinity of 4 km ( 44 aeres). This fort is very strong. The fort walls are 35 to 40 feet in height. In the fort there are three wells containing very sweet water. There is a natures wonder of a coconut tree having two branches. You have to go to the fort - from , Malavn jetty by a boat known as ' Ulandi ' in a local language.
There are three forts in the vicinity of Kolamb creek. First is Surejkot at the mouth of the creek. It is 4 Km from Malvan. This fort is constructed by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1668.
Second is Rajkot- near Malvan port. Now only reminiscent can be seen Third is Padamgad - It is a small fort. At the time of low tide you can walk into the fort. This fort was used for the repairs of ships & boats in Maratha period

Every year, in the month of february, there is a big Jatra of Goddess Bharadidevi, Known as 'Jatra of Anganewadi '. Devotees from all over India visit this place.



Bilwas Jalmandir Ozar :This temple is at Vilwas in Malvan Taluka. In Konkan, Konkani people are devotees of ant-hills they feel it is the form of goddess . Here is such ant - hill in the temple. There are eight talukas in district Sindhudurg. Out it of it three i.e. Deogad, Malvan & Vengurla are on the seabank & Vaibhavadi, kudal, Kankawali , Sawantwadi & Dodamarg are at the foot of Sahyadri. This district is declared as a Tourism district. Mumbai Goa highway goes through this district via Kharepatan, Kankawali, Oros, Kudal Sawantwadi & Banda.
